PETA Making of Fool of Itself

I generally admire PETA, but they are soooo far off base on this Kentucky Derby thing its pathetic. Did anyone hear the interview yesterday by Mike Tirico from ESPN with a PETA spokesperson? Even though Tirico nicely tried to help her not do it, the lady made a total fool of herself. PETA needs to stick to stuff they are knowledgeable about.

More of the same.

There is nothing wrong with encouraging or strongly recommending safe or responsible handling of animals, but too many of these politically charged self-appointed zealot organizations actually believe that they have all of the answers. You could use examples like ACLU, AARP, NAACP, or any other group which attempts to speak for every person on every topic or uses single cases to make a point and create unfunded mandates or bureaucratic BS. Sometimes, life does not go like we wish. The sooner we deal with the harsh reality of life (and death), the sooner we can enjoy all that God gives in this life and beyond. We can only imagine the grief that the trainers, owners, and riders of that horse and the community of equine lovers are going through with such a loss. It is pitiful when the critics (PETA), their lawyers, and media moguls, and other disturbed 'fans' cannot even wait to jump on a sad story. No more mob rules through legal channels. Get over it.

Where were you when Vick needed help. PETA brought him down with. They are just trying to show they don't leave any stone unturn. They don't have the financial power or political power to bring down this horse racing industry down, just pandering to the general public. They will quietly go away while Vick lay in prison.

If you do not see the difference,

then you have no hope. Jockeys, trainers, and horse owners literally love their horses and appreciate life and the privileges of pet stewardship and the duties of owning or caring for animals. Mr. V and the others clearly have lost any credibility in the public eye through various means of torture, mistreatment and ultimate destruction of helpless dogs with no purpose beyond personal power, control, and money. When the horses become part of the family and people literally weep when they are forced to use appropriate medicinal mercy to alleviate pain and suffering, you CANNOT compare breeding and beating dogs mercilessly for some cruel 'game' to raising beautiful horses in pastoral and picturesque settings with the best of all that you can imagine.

when the Euro-PETAs decried the farm-rasing of minks and conspired to trespass and let hundreds loose to live free in the countryside. The minks mostly turned on and fought (to the death) with each other, and the rest (that were not caught and recaged) starved to death...

How about the time they broke into the primate center at Emery/CDC and let the monkeys loose in Decatur. How many do you think died because they couldn't survive in an urban environment?
