worth pointing out

June 8 2012, 9:56 AM

experts state that we need to create 150,000 (150K) jobs per month just to keep up with new entrants into the work force.

same experts mostly agree that we need about 400,000 (400K) jobs created per month to recover from the recession of 2007-2008.

the numbers for Obama barely meet the first criteria, yet the media and the progressives tout how great a job Obama is doing. Yeah, great if the baseline is set to 0,000 instead of 150,000 or 400,000.

the public's lack of understanding will not be offset by the fact that they know people who are still unemployeed or underemployeed. The Underemployment is not considered in the anemic job creation data. No company I am aware of will hire domestically in the current economic and regulatory environment. They are hiring in low wage areas.

So Obama should just wave a magic wand??

You are asking for perfection to reach a number that, as you point out, is debatable even by the experts. The recession was the worst in many, many years and coming out of it with the current world economy crisis will not be easy. Some are blocking every effort to move in the correct direction because of politics, not because its the correct thing to do. Is Obama getting it done? Adding jobs as opposed to dropping jobs is a positive and better than when he entered office. If you think adding 130,000 jobs a month is bad because it is not 150,000 a month, then all I can say is, wow, you need to step up and run for office to show us all how it should be done.

he added to the severity of the economic downturn (nice little description to a depression

June 8 2012, 10:47 AM

by adding trillions with all of his croney bailouts. By giving his Union buddies a free walk with bailouts and adding to the demise with money given to Solandra etc. He has yet to accomplish anything he promised in all of his speeches running up to his election. Not one item on his to do list is completed and you want to give him 4 more years to not get it done?

He has widened the gap on Racism, he has created a rich versus poor paradym, our world status has been dumbed down by his approach to international affairs (how many more world leaders does he have to insult?) and we as a country are failing. If a CEO performed this poorly he'd be history. Obama's lack of leadership has failed and it is time to see if the next guy can do any better. A Community organizer was an epic fail as qualifications to be president, let's see how a successful CEO handles it. VOTE ROMNEY!!!!!

Nooooooo. He should not take credit for something that's not real

the stimulus (remember that $1B expense) wsa supposed to nip the job losses in the bud. It failed. Normal growth should be at least 150,000 jobs per month. It's not. But the spinners want you (and it worked) to believe that as a result of Obama, positive things are happening. They are not. Does any president have that much control, in a free market, to increase the rate companies hire? Nope. But adding regulation, expenses, and taxes certainly makes your average business owner batten down the hatches and decrease the rate of hiring. Changing the size of the available labor pool also makes your unemployment numbers look better. I have a firend with a masters degree working as a life guard. Is that properly employeed? Nope. But it adds to those 80,000 jobs for May. And being able to 'check the boxes' does not indicate that the plan will work in the long term.

when O took office

there were about 140 mill. people employed. The latest #'s are about 141 or 2 I believe. Just a few million less working. You know, normally I don't hold the Pres. responsible, per se, but when he kept preaching how he was 'focused like a lazer' and how his "stimulus" would fix it, then I have no choice but to hold him accountable. He said it himself "if the unemployment rate is above 8%, I don't deserve another term. Let's hold him to it.
