Most US citizens born in this country would be hard pressed to provide all the required documentation just to RENEW. We can thank the Republicans for this one. Representative James Sensenbrenner (R) of Wisconsin, the author of the original Real ID Act, then attached it as a rider on a military spending bill, H.R. 1268, the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Defense, the Global War on Terror, and Tsunami Relief, 2005. Pretty sneaky attaching it to a bill that has nothing to do with identity verification. Standard operation procedure for many politicians......
