The Islamic event you refer to is being held at Marshall Park over a 1/2 mile from the convention center. It is a separate event being held at the same time as the convention, not as an official part of the convention. No Islamic prayer will be recited at the actual convention, at least not that I have found. Please show when and where this is on the DNC daily agenda. Also, where is the article showing that a priest was denied a prayer. |

*The Charlotte in 2012 page was established by the city of Charlotte to help coordinate the DNC. It advertises itself as the official location for all the latest news, information and ways to get involved. It is also the official website for the host committee. Additionally, all events listed on the site have to go through an approval process.

The dummy's are those who can't read ALL the fine print.
Below was taken directly from the Charlotte in 2012 webpage (The rest of what was written). Please note the last paragraph, especially the last two sentences in the last paragraph, and then look at the event listings at http://charlottein2012.com/events/
Upcoming Events
A variety of events leading up to and during the convention are listed below, including official Charlotte in 2012 and Democratic National Convention Committee events listed as "Featured Events" and an exciting array of Convention-related events submitted from the community! Event submissions are accepted only if they meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate planning and content appropriate and relevant to the Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee;
- Provide educational or cultural content;
- Submission does not guarantee publication and Charlotte in 2012 reserves the right to decline publication of any submitted events for any reason.
This events page is intended to give local residents and convention-goers a comprehensive look at convention week activities and should not be considered an endorsement of any particular event or group by the Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee or the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC). Official convention events are denoted with the Charlotte in 2012 or DNCC logos. All other submissions are user generated.

How an Islamic religious event (if that's what you want it to be called) has to do with the appropriateness/relevancy of the Convention? Maybe because o is a Muslim? |

any legal avenue they choose. Democrats must believe in the constitution since freedom of religion is one of the cornerstones of our constitution. You do believe in the constitution don't you. There are Christian events listed to. Are these deemed ok with you or should they be deemed irrelevant? Just because you don't like what and how they worship does not make it wrong or irrelevant. Of course, you are free to disagree with it, but not to stop it from taking place. You really have little faith in this great nation since you feel that only things that you like and approve of should be allowed in this country. Many, many people have died defending the principle of this country and you want to trample all of that just to have it YOUR way. How do you see honor in that? How do you see that type of thinking as morally correct? |

so now they embrace religion? More likely pandering to special interests for more votes. And does Islam beleive in gay marriage? How does one reconcile the disparate views of the Democrat Party? |

that Democrats are joining the two? You are making a connection because you are desperate. If the skinheads show up at the RNC does that mean the RNC supports skinhead activity? By your logic, yes it does...... |

The democrat convention site shows the muslim event. Obama has publically declared his support and beleif in gay marriage. ergo the two are supported by the democrat party. islam, in sharia law, condems homosexual behavior to death by stoning.
How does the democrat party support two groups that are diametrically opposed to one-another?
And if a skin-head rally was listed on the RNC Tampa site, then you could make the correlation. If the Code Pink Vulvas show up at the RNC convention, they are not part of the RNC convention... |

someone making a connection because they want the connection. You can't selectively make up associations just because you find something offensive about a group or person. It is the guilt by association attack. If you play that game then we are all guilty of befriending murderers and rapists because they are Americans or because they live on our neighborhood or because they were in class with us or they were at a couple of business meetings with us.
If you want to use facts to prove your point you have to use those same facts to accept the point of others, especially when those facts come from the facts "you" referenced. In one breath you try to use the printed words of the the website (it doesn't say what you imply) to say the Islamic prayer meeting is sponsored by the DNC and in the other you say the other printed words are just a smoke screen because we all know what they really mean. Classic Tea Party Republican behavior. Glenn Beck would be proud. |

| You are really grasping. | August 30 2012, 11:19 AM |
Are you that desperate? This is nothing more than a list of things happening during the DNC convention in Charlotte. Nothing ties any or them to an official endorsement. We have already seen in writing, on the Charlotte 2012 website that only some of the events posted on their site are official DNC related events. What do you not understand???

| I don't understand how if in order to get printed onto their list of events it has to | August 30 2012, 12:24 PM |
include properties that stand for what the Convention perports as listed in a previous post here. Since you feel it doesn't then why is it on the list and if it does how do you explain it in terms that the Dems aren't into believing what this particular group follows.
This is the question. To get on their list it had to meet requirements it is on the list so it met them, so how does this not mean the Dems believe in it?
Someone sure does and since the political leaders for the Dems sactioned it it must be so. |

| You have proved nothing. | August 30 2012, 12:38 PM |
Please post where the DNC officially says these are DNC sponsored events. You can't. It has already been shown, in writing on the specified website, that the event is not DNC endorsed. The website is merely posting events that are happening at the time of the DNC. If want to make a connection, fine, but that proves nothing. |

"- Demonstrate planning and content appropriate and relevant to the Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee;
- Provide educational or cultural content;
- Submission does not guarantee publication and Charlotte in 2012 reserves the right to decline publication of any submitted events for any reason. "
These are the published requirements for getting put on the list.
Since the event made it onto the list and was published by them it must have met them:
- Appropriate and relevant to the Convention Host Committee.
- Provided either educational or cultural content.
- they never declined its addition to the list therefore they agree with it.

It doesn't. It is the Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Commititee. They are not part of the DNC and it clearly states that in the part you left out immediately follwing what you posted.
"This events page is intended to give local residents and convention-goers a comprehensive look at convention week activities and should not be considered an endorsement of any particular event or group by the Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee or the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC). Try all you want to distance yourself from what they are doing. It reamins a fact it is on the list. I'll give you it does not have any designation symbol next to it but it is still ON THE LIST!!! Since the list is published there is no way you can argue against that. It is in print! |

Keep trying to spin it any way which helps you sleep at night as this country goes up in smoke under the current regime. |
