i agree with this article 100%. every time i go hiking,packing,camping i take a 1377/1322 or one of my pump rifles. i also agree wit the author on reliability of bb ammo at short range,in particular to cost vs effectiveness.
while i will still keep a breakbarrel around for the firepower, a well handled pumper is always going to be a key survival tool.great article, a reminder of one of the main reasons i personally got into this sport/hobby.

That really is a good article. The way things are these days, more of is could easily find ourselves in that situation. But, not sure I could digest the lizards and grasshoppers. Maybe, hope it doesn't come to that. I own a 880. Haven't shot it much. Good accuracy but not sure of the dependability. Think I'll check out the 2100. Sounds like a dependable rifle. Don
