LONG HILL TWP. – The Morris Automated Information Network (M.A.I.N.) of libraries will be upgrading its computer system from Tuesday, Nov. 28 through Tuesday, Dec. 12, during which time the online catalog will not be accessible at Morris County libraries, including Long Hill Township.

However, online databases and the Internet will remain available during this time, according to Long Hill Library Director Peggy Neubig.

Library staff at the affected libraries will be available to help patrons locate the materials they need. In addition to Long Hill, the affected local libraries are: Bernards Township, Morristown, Morris County, Madison, Chatham and Harding, Neubig said.

To place a hold on a library item, or request that an item be sent from another library, patrons can have library staff do this for them. Materials will continue to be available for check out and return.

Following the upgrade, patrons have a new, more user-friendly welcome screen on the catalog. This screen will enable patrons to take full advantage of the system’s features. Searching by keyword, for example, will be streamlined, Neubig said.
