Courtesty of Diane Costa...

From the daily record:

GOP wins Long Hill council seats

In a tight race to maintain partisan control of the township committee, Republicans Jerry Aroneo and Mead Briggs defeated Democrats Len Hamilton and Alexandra Hennessy.

Aroneo led his counterpart, Briggs, by a wide margin, of 1,797 to 1,733 votes, excluding absentee ballots. Hamilton and Hennessy tallied 1,335 and 1,331 votes, respectively.

Voters also approved a special question to use half of one cent of the municipality’s two-cent open space tax for historic preservation of structures, facilities and sites. The question passed by over 500 votes.

From the Morris county election site:

REP - Jerry Aroneo 1,862

REP - Mead L. Briggs 1,796

DEM - Alexandra Hennessy 1,383

DEM - Len Hamilton 1,381

Were you happy with the results?

I was really happy that here in PA both Bob Casey and Jason Altmire beat out their Republican incumbents. I just think that a split in power is better for our country!

To be honest...

I hadn't made up my mind who to vote for right up until election day. I liked a little bit of what everybody had to say, and there was nobody whose position frightened me, which was good, LOL!

I think I would have been happy whatever the outcome.

Nationally, I agree with you - it's nice to see things balanced.
