PTO Basket Auction/Vendor Night - Friday April 13th 6:30 - 9:00 pm at the Long Hill Community Center. All proceeds go to the Technology Fund.

In addition to the baskets, there will be a variety of local vendors. I'll be there selling my wares. Hope to see you there!

I don't live in your neighborhood, but this post caught my eye. We have had limited success with our PTO basket auction that is in conjunction with our carnival. What kinds of baskets do you do and what is "vendor night"...kind of like a craft show? Our baskets are usually themed, like "movie night" and the baskets are filled with movie tickets, dvd rental tickets, snacks, etc. We are looking for some new ideas for next year to kind of liven it all up.

I can't really say from an organizer standpoint...

I didn't really have any involvement on that end. I was there as a vendor. It was basically a large room with theme baskets in the middle, and some vendor tables along the outskirts. The vendors included some who did crafts (like me) and others who did home party businesses like Pampered Chef and Party Lite.

From my point of view, it didn't go so well - I did a lot better last year when it was just a vendor night without the baskets. I think there may have been too much going on this time. It seemed like the basket portion of the night went well and was busy. A good portion of the crowd just never made it over to my area of vendors, unfortunately.

I think the baskets are where the PTO is making the most money, and I don't really have a gauge for how well that went. Maybe someone from the PTO will be lurking here and can fill in my gaps.

Sorry I'm not more help! Good luck with your event!
