JIm Carrey Desrves His Oscar 100%!
by
Jim Carrey is a deserving actor. He did very well in the movie "Man on the Moon" he put his whole being in that movie to make it as real as possible. And still you deny him his chance of the award that he deserves completly. I and other fans want to know why. Till then I think it is because someone there who has say so over it just doesn't like him. I think they should put that aside and see that he deserves an oscar. If my assomption is completly wrong then I am sorry to affend you. Thank You for listening. D'Anna Brown

Jim has once again been denied what we all know is his!!! But I'm a firm believer in "time takes care of everything". I'm sure this is disappointing to him but we all know he has been through alot worse in his life. He will come out just fine and when it is his time God will see that it is BIG!! just like what He has already done for Jim. But, just in case you don't know it we are all behind you Jim.

He has made us laugh time and time again, but the academy can't see what?

I think it is very much time that Jim Carrey deserves an Oscar. You have given Oscars to people who just plain down suck, but with Jim he has made us laugh in numerous movies that you have repeatedly overlooked. I think that yes his comedy is unique and a new style, but so was rock in the 60's and 70's. Jim Carrey makes the American public laugh. Give him what he deserves. He works very hard to bring us laughter. If this year Jim doesn't get Oscar, you the Acedemy will be hearing laughter from the public, and they will be laughing at how little you guys really now about Viewers Choice.

I have been a Jim Carrey fan since In Living Color. I think he is a very versatileactor. I mean take his last 3 film (The Truman Show, Simon Birch, and Man on the Moon) I mean just between those 3 performance, plus a TV movie entitled "Doing Time on Maple Drive",he should get an Oscar nomination.
I mean what does the Academy want from this fine actor?

I absolutly disagree with what youīve done with Jim Carrey. He is a wonderful actor and he should have been nominated last year for The Truman Show.
As he didnīt win, i supposed you would think about how to make him a bit happier, but NOOOOO!, you just canīt even imagine that a comician can be considered a good actor.
What would have happened if all the people thought the same about actors like Robin Williams or Tom Hanks? They both are oscars winners and Robin Williams is considered a multi-facetic performer.
Iīm sure about you donīt even watch all the movies, if not Why did you give Kim Bassinger an oscar? LA Confidential wasnīt such a good film as you all made us believe and i was REALLY dissapointed about her performance. I canīt just believe she won for her natural talent, but iīm sure about she won because of she looked like her character.
I also disagree with your politic of "non-nominated ever can not be winners" Why do u always nominate the same people?? Donīt you know there are wonderful talented actors out there starving??
That was all i wanted to say. Please think about Jimīs nomination next year. Everybody will agree.

I'll be the first to say that I'm not a huge Jim Carrey fan, but I must say he did an EXCELLENT job of portraying Andy. He is well deserving of an Academy Award for his performance. I do not believe anyone else could have played Andy so convincingly. I was a bit wary when i went to see the film, but by the end of the credits (ha) I was hooked. It was simply amazing. Give him the credit he deserves. In so doing, you will also honor another brilliant and misunderstood genius who left this world all too soon.
Thank you,
Ruben C. Carter

If it had been Tom Hanks staring "The Truman Show" and "Man on the Moon" I'm sure the Academy would have nominated them. Why do you choose to ignore Jim Carrey? Is it because he is a comedian? It seems the Academy doesn't think comedians can act...look how many years it took Robin Williams before he finally got his statue. Jim Carrey is one fine actor and needs to be recognized for his talent and hard work.

hi there acadamy people...
I'm Claartje van Swaaij from the Netherlands and
I feel very sorry for Jim and the rest of the Man on The Moon crew. . He is supposed to get some honor of what he has done for the movie..everyone involved with the whole movie actually. From
the biggest stars till the smalllest unpaid extra's the camera people, the cable carriers whatever! I mean..I think..being
nominated for an oscar might be a sign of appreciation. And it's a real big shame that he and the rest didn't get that. Everybody needs appreciation. So let's all shout
JIM AND THE REST OF THE M.O.T.M CREW!!!! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST AND DID A HELL OF A GOOOOD JOB! WE
REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR WORK! NO OSCAR NEEDED TO SAY THAT! BESIDES...A GOLDEN GLOBE MIGHT BE EVEN
COOLER TO GET! I MEAN..pfah..an oscar is just one little man of gold..a GLOBE....IS WAYYYYYYY BIGGER!! ha! That's the whoooole world! Imagine that! And besides...not nominating Man On The Moon is kinda a dishonoring against Andy Kaufman. Pretty dissapionted in you guys. The least thing you guys can do to make it a little better is getting Jim to Host hehe.
Oh well..I'm just bummeing...don't make that mistake too often again. Or another least thing....You should hand out an oscar that represents all the fantastic movies, actors and actresses that weren't even nominated by whatever reason.
claartje.

Marissa, I know that you already know that I am supporting this but I would like to add my entry to the Academy. I have heard that some of you did not see Man on the Moon because it left theaters quickly and Universal did not send you any tapes for consideration. Is this true? I have a hard time believing this especially since the release date for the movie was moved back form Nov 5th to Dec 22nd for Oscar consideration! I would like to know what you people have against Jim? Do you know how hard he has worked to get where he is at and do you have any idea how hard he worked on this movie? I don't think you do. All I ask is for you to give him a chance in the future and to stop snubbing him like this. Thank You!
