What a great site. I applaud all of you for your love of Fuller Park and other crazy Athens mysteries.
I grew up on Waverly Way about a quarter of a mile from the park. I spent so much time in there as a child and then as a teenager that I feel I still know it like the back of my hand. Just like you guys my friends and tried to figure the place out. We spent the night in the park to many times to remember. In fact, my friends grand mother actually lived in the old house over on the street by the hospital that is made out of the same rock as Fuller Park's fence. I know this house very well also.
In the early 1990's we didnt have the internet, and had no idea how to research things anyway. We were just kids. I do not know as many of the details as you guys obviously do, but as for the park and the old house, I bet I know it as well as anybody could. I played in both for 20 years.
By the way in all that time we never saw any ghosts, and we were looking. We did see lots of people drinking and making out. We always had fun trying to make those people think we were the ghosts. We did once find about a quarter pound of weed tied to a stick and dangled down the well. Speaking of the well, I took my kid to the park about a month ago and absolutely could not find it. I have great faith in my memory, and know that I was looking in the right spot. Has it caved in? Do you guys know what I am talking about? I know I was in the right spot, I could draw a map of the place from memory anytime.
Fuller Park is a big part of who I am and I am so pleased to find you guys here.
