I was there the night Todd died we were at a arcade/poolhall newyears morning I believe it was 1982 just after midnight bringing in the new year.I was standing by the pool table with two beer cans sitting on the edge of the table one we had been flicking ashes into Todd and Mark walked up and asked if I wanted to go to Caney City with them but first had to drop off a girlfriend of his at her house, any other night I would have jumped at the chance to go to Caney but for some reason I declined.Todd picked up one of the cans and took a swig and cussing as he spit out ashes walked out the door he was in no frame of mind to be driving for we had polished off a few cases of beer that night. I have read other stories on the net about that fateful night that were distorted to say the least Todd's car was a black comet with gold rims and very fast and he died on HWY 31 coming back into town just across from the old trail drive in theater. Lucky for Mark he was thrown clear of the crash through the passengers window with only minor injuries not so for Todd he broke a telephone pole in three pieces and wound up with his head hanging out the small passengers window behind the drivers seat.As far as Todd being into anything dark in Athens I don't think so he was a normal 20 year old just like the rest of us and it was just his time to go.I haven't thought about this in over 25 years and the flood of memories when reading these stories is unreal.I hope this clears up some confusion on Todd's behalf and any comments are welcome!
Its so sad how people twist things around about Todd. You know I never knew Todd but I use to pass by his house all the time, I lived on Valle Vista and when he would be outside working on his car and I passed by he would always wave & we didnt even know each other. Never heard anything bad about him until I found this site. Anyone that knew him knows these stories are bullcrap.
Good thing his friends keep it straight. Suzanne
