THAT WAS THE GOAL and those moves which you mentioned are simply the implementation of the plot which included total disregard for the rule of law.
Chavit & Ocampo issues would have been resolved by continuing the impeachment process, but Estrada could have defended himself and perhaps get acquitted, but
since the objective was the Estrada ouster, the walk-out was actually part of the script, as later revelations indicate;
Davide, therefore, the SC was in on it, thus the ruling on the constitutionality of the plunder law which insured that Estrada will not be able to campaign for his party and again since the Comelec was still part of the Civil Society, it was easy to make sure that the usurper's side had a majority.
So, let's not lose sight of all the linked events that led us to this point in time. You ask me now which one is the mistake? All of them. All the safety valves of good governance supposedly embedded in our Constitution were all successfully sabotaged by a group of well placed individuals--govt: executive, legislative and Judicial branches; add to that the media and business groups which successfully created doubts in the minds of the people that stood by and watched perplexed.
