Mud®ijada2005, The Second World Championship in cooking testicles, was held on the 2nd and 3rd of September, near Sumska kuca on the mountain Rudnik.
This year’s event was supported by Serbian Tourist Association, Alliance of the mountain associations of SCG, but also by several student organisations from Belgrade University, which have organised arrival of their members and supporters.
Beside the competition, we have emphasized the fun and entertainment and that's why we organised rich programm for all competitors and visitors. With great help of the Mountain alliance «Rudnik» from Gornji Milanovac, to which we are greatful, we organised picnics to the mountain Rudnik, well known as air spa.
Competitors as well as guests, were welcomed on the old Serbian traditional was – with salt and served by girls and boys dressed in tradional costumes, who are the members of the local folklore company.
On this year's competition there were 12 teams.
Although some australian cooks announced their coming with their special dishes made of cangaroos testicles, they didn't come. Soon after the Mud®ijada2005 was officially over, some australian journalists contacted the manager of Mud®ijada2005, and understood the cruel true and surrender of their fellow Australians without a battle, so they spread the news about the their cowerdness all over Australia. Maybe this will make above mentioned australian cooks to gather cangaroos, but also their own, testicles and come to the Festival.
During the competition, two teams of doctors from Belgrade clinic centre, gathered under names «Do jaja» i «Od jaja», tried to win over their angry rivals by asking them special question: «If one puts the 5 kilos bob on the right testicle on the silver wire, and on the left the 3 kilos bob on the gold wire, which wire will break first?» The answer knew only doctors, and it was – voice, of course.
The World Champion in cooking testicle specialities and wooden statue of the mail body become Milanovacko-Majdanski team.
We had about 1000 visitors from all over SCG, which gathered under clear aim, emphasized also through the message by organisers – good fun, entertainment, coolinary but also and retorical competition tied with the things which make the name of this event.
Everybody present there had a special opportunity to try the excitant efficiency of this speciality.
We had also lots of media present there.
We would like to thank all journalists and TV crews whic helped Mud®ijada2005 to become famous all over our country so that it can expand as special happening in a way to become international event. We have already gave interviews to some foreign media, such as RTL Yoren FM – holland radio station, Central European News – to their correspondant from Split and to one Australian news agency.
