Why are there so many negative news about the Philippines?

I've noticed how people here hate the poster by the name of benign0. I myself don't like the mudslinging specially when the allegations are lies. But reading the Philippine news online today made me wonder.

For one thing, most people don't read the Philippine papers and it's probably because they don't really care. Maybe if they did they'll find out why one senator who supported EDSA2 is now criticizing the people who took over. Any comments on this?
