University Belt shenanigans was the fuze, but student unrest actually started in Paris,...

by Dog S. Pig (Login DeeEssPea) the Sorbonne University. The U.S. version was a pizz-poor copy, but of course it was copied by Pinoys, led by a group from U.P. who trained in Peking to be good agitator boyz and gurlz.

Acts of agitation included, but was not limited to, throwing garbage and rocks at Miss International Aurora Pijuan's motorcade as it was rolling in front of the Recto Avenue schools on her way to Mendiola and thence to Malacanang for a courtesy call. She was by herself on a small, open parade float with no protection but fortunately escaped unscathed. This was one of the many but little-known incidents that fueled Marcos' presidential ire and things went downhill from there. And then Plaza Miranda. ====>1081.

Martial Law was justified because there was a real threat of breakdown in public safety and the threat was being compounded by Chairman Mao up north and Khadaffy down south.

The above snippet of information did not come from any news source but from the deposition/debriefing of a person who was in the loop for a while until he fell from grace and was forced to seek asylum (accepted) in the U.S., bringing with him enough documentation to keep him safe and alive. Him and his wife had to legally change their names and he took a job that afforded them added safety. Those documents were returned to him after microfilming and are still in a bank's safe deposit box to this day, with several sets of county clerk certified true copies kept here and there among trusted people.
