Go to http://tinyurl.com and type the URL in the space bar. The website automatically compresses it. Easy-peasy!

I wasn't thinking.

There is an extension for Firefox users that makes it very easy to change a url to tinyurl. Once you have it, you just right click anywhere on the page you want the url for, and an option to create a tinurl for that page comes up. You click on it, and it makes a tinyurl and automatically copies it to your clipboard.

For people not using Firefox, here is the link:

http://tinyurl.com/

Then you can just cut and paste the url you want into the box.
