anyone here a member of "Direct Buy" ?
I know they advertise heavily (print, infomercial, online ads), but I don't recall that they've ever been discussed here.

You might want to check out this site before joining. I know someone who is not happy with them at all.
oh, I don't plan to join!

Just wondered if anyone here has had any experience with them.
IMO, it's one of those "sounds too good to be true" things, which always make me run away ... and apparently, plenty of their customers are dissatisfied.
Lili, thank you for this link

We've seen the infomercials, too. We're also planning on new carpet and some other big purchases. I am sure, based on what I read on the site you recommended, that we would NEVER join. But, you've saved us a couple of hours of time and aggravation. Thank you.
You're right, RR--we've never discussed this here before. And I don't know why. Maybe because all of us are too skeptical to even go to a presentation?

Lili, do you listen to Tom Martino?

Tom Martino is a consumer advocate on the radio in Denver and he RAILS on that place, and others like them, as a total scam.
I like to listen to Tom Martino when I can. I couldn't listen every day, but once a week or so is very educational and entertaining.

I do listen to Tom Martino once in a while but I always check his web site for references. I went to one of his seminars on reverse mortgages last year and learned a lot.

I check his website for references too. I have learned a lot by listening to him over the years.
Dh was thinking about checking that place out at one point.

If he ever brings it up again, I will direct him to that site. Thanks!!!

who is pretty savvy, they joined. it has some great deals on higher end stuff from what he says, they saved thousands of dollars on furnishing their first home almost ten years ago.
I have used his ID to go online, and nothing exciting and time consuming to get prices. it seems not so great for lower end stuff but more for bargains on expensive furniture and carpet and appliances.
