Creator & director : email rick_potvin@yahoo.com Cryonics-for-Connectomes or Connectome-Cryonics are equivalent terms for CryoConnectomics or cryoconnectomics. It's now the only cryonics that matters and it has not yet been proven viable-- but it's urgent to do so. It can also potentially falsify the entire cryonics thesis. It is to be distinguished from plastination, uploading and A.I. which is NOT cryonics and is of no interest to cryonicists qua cryonicists. Many cryonicists are also uploaders or transhumanists but cryonics itself is not interested in uploading by definition but rather reversible suspended animation which does require proof of survival of connectomes through vitrification.

There's something to be said for instant posting rather than approval-needed

Rick [INSTANT POSTING]  (no login)

There is an immediacy and excitment to instant posting that doesn't exist with approval-posting. I've experimented with both with several audiences and the approval only posting always stops the flow. I was acutally quite surprised at that but I guess I'm less surprised now. This Cafe will remain in immediate post mode.

Glad to hear it, Rick.

I hope you stick with it this time. Your posters often become wary of investing any substantial time in such a volatile forum. Please, please, please, don't let us down again.

I'm going to lurk for a bit, to make sure this isn't going to be a shortlived venture that will end in deleted posts, locked threads, and another closed forum. If things stay relatively stable, I look forward to being a frequent contributor once again.

Good luck,

Jonathan

I have my own Cryonics Observer to "control"

August 16 2004, 8:15 PM

If you notice the link at the top of Cafe, you'll see Observer. Observer is where I steer everything. Cafe is more randomized. Cryonicists are not the first group I've made mistakes in over-controlling. I did a great job on doing a stock trading forum with huge attendance. I didn't agree more and more with people and started trying to control directions of conversation. Everyone got ticked off and left. I should have left it alone and started a back up blog that links into the hotbed of randomness. My thinking was that anyone could start their own forum but that didn't happen. You were the only one-- and then that was it. I guess starting forums isn't as easy as I presumed. I imagined 50 cryonics blogs starting up that I could link together on CryoTalk. Anyway, thanks for visiting. Your EO sort of works. The linear threading actually sort of works too. It took care of those threads that got skinny and went off the page. Good work.
