Response to New Arching Rule

First, the foot must be as flat as the sole of the shoe allows. This basically means 100% flat. I wore wrestling shoes at my last meet and while my foot was physically flat, when I pushed with my feet, the wrestling shoe rounded a bit and gave the illusion that the foot was not flat. Because of this, you may want to start benching in solid shoes that are flat, unlike the flexible wrestling shoes. Your choice, just make sure you would pass in a meet.

Second.....the press command is now given. You no longer press when you want....you must wait for the head referee to give the "press" command. Typically it is a SLOW one-one thousand count

any questions, let me know

Josh
