I am trying to find anyone that knew or served with my grandfather. He passed away 12 years ago and did not talk much about his service. I believe he was with Carlson's Raiders on Bougainville and the Solomons (there may be more). He was active from 12/15/42 and was discharged on 5/17/45.
His name was Merle Winton Schutz from Riverbank, California
