My daddy passed away 3 years ago on September 14, 2000. He was always kind of reticent when it came to discussing his wartime experiences and therefore, I was unaware until his last year that he had been one of Carlson's Raiders. He told me a little about it, and would have continued if he had lived. He seemed to have difficulty talking about it; he was very clear, however, that he admired Col. Carlson and that although Carlson had 'enemies' in the Corps, that Daddy was pleased and proud to have served under him.
I am desparate for information, pictures, anything. If anyone has a similar situation and knows resources that might help, I'd appreciate an email. I am a former Marine as well.
