My dad, Wade Clinton McCoy was a Marine Raider. I have some of his military records which indicate that he was given the following medals: American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Also,he was allowed to wear the following operation and engagement stars on service ribbons:Capture & Defense of Guadalcanal, Makin Raid, Consolidation of Southern Solomons, New Georgia-Rendova-Vangunu Occupation, Capture and Occupation of Saipan, Capture and Occupation of Tinian, & the China Service Ribbon.
