It is my belief that Don Lawson served with the Raiders and
probably
participated in the Makin Raid and almost certainly participated
in the
Long Patrol. Mr. Lawson is currently in the VA hospital here in
Grand
Junction, CO with terminal cancer, thought you would want to
know.

Hello J D,
My name is Dan Marsh and Dick Gaines forwarded your message
concerning Don
Lawson to me as I served in the Marine Raiders in WW II. The
name Don L.
Lawson does not appear on the master roster of those who served
in the U.S.
Marine Raiders during WW II. It is possible that he was attached
to one of
the Raider Battalions during an engagement or was with one of
the Parachute
Battalions. Thank you for your concern for Don and seeking get
the word of
his condition to those who served with him. Semper Fidelis!
Dan Marsh 4DQ

I see you are at a stand still. There are some other people that helped me along with Dan Marsh. Here are some addresses. MaRaidRec@aol.com and ohgng@aol.com and woodlot@erols.com. These men have helped me out so much in locating info. on my uncle and dad. They are true men still serving our country. You can also file a sf-180 form or you can call the Nprc (314) 538-4141 or the Vet's Admin. # 800 827 1000.This all takes a little effort but the info. is out there. Gung ho, means work together. Hope I helped you along as many have helped me!
