My uncle, Donald J. Coffey was a member of Carlson's Raiders. He was killed Sept.14,1942 during the Guadalcanal fighting, I'm not sure where exactly. Our family remembers him as a crack shot and a proud Marine.
I wonder if anyone remembers him from those terrible days. It would be good to hear from a friend or two of his.
