Has Gung Ho been replaced by Ooh Rah (what's this?) whatever that means?

The tv movie last Sunday titled Semper Fi was about Marine team work that emphasized Ooh Rah as the Marine thing (?).

I understand there were some former, 1944 disbanded Raiders in the Mt Suribachi, Iwo Jima, flag raising (2);Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima).

It may just be a rumor, but I've heard from a couple of Marines that Oorah is Turkish for "kill". Again, it may just be a rumor.

oORah is nothing, came from nothing, never can or will be but nothing. That simple!

Oorah has been noted as being a Sikh expression first heard duringt the Boxer Rebellion.
