what you are looking to do with the gun once you upgrade? I have a B-26 and like it, but recently found an issue that might be the scope and not the gun. I am working on it.
My B-26 is .177 and there is a .22 cal available from BAM. I installed the Macarri spring and Hornet seal, polished and lubed it. The trigger sprung apart on me, so I polished and reassembled it to become 8 oz of pull. Fine for me! The Macarri parts were about $30 or so.
Dropped a crow with it last week at 35 yards, piece of cake! 7.9 grain CPLs zoom out at 800 fps after the tune. Stock it shoots faster and has a bit more kick. I'd do it again but wait on the tune until the spring breaks.
If you have the cash, the Beeman R9 is superior in every way, especially accuracy and power. In addition, you'll not have a problem selling it should you need to recover the money. Just keep it in good shape.
If you are looking for a beater to hunt and plink, the B-26 can get the job done if you get a good one. It can be hit or miss with quality and performance. Some are equal to an R9 while others struggle to make a group. Either way, for $150 shipped its a good offer.
