Response to Air King? |
| I am an advocate for owning one of each, money permitting. OK, let me put the Air King on the back burner and focus on the TX200 Vs HW97. Both come in a full length rifle and carbine version. When trying to decide between the two, you are really picking from amongst 4 models. I raise this point because this is exactly where I am stuck, and I was not kidding about being in the same boat. I am seriously looking to acquire one of the two for this holiday season.
During Paul Capello's TX200 video, where he was joined by Tom Gaylord, there was talk about the shrouded barrel on the longer model. I like that! However, my instinct regarding springers is to go with the short barrel such as the Lightning. Faster release of the lead from the barrel with recoil is a good thing, and the shorter barrel on this power plant doesn't adversely effect velocity as much as with pneumatics.
If you want to throw the Pro Sport in the conversation, them maybe we should also throw in the HW77, offering two from HW and two from AA. We'll assume .177 caliber only?
Well, there I go again - making more choices.... and there lies the problem.
Remove the logic and go with your gut on what you like. Any of the above, you can't go wrong. Most likely I will go with the TX200 short version in walnut... at least for today! Watch the video and become polarized.
Now, someone with real experience will chime in and spoil all that.
Take your time and enjoy the hunt. It's half the fun!
