Beautiful weekend here in Western NC. Not a cloud to be found and the weather was almost summer like.

Saturday, Vince and I went to do a bit of squirrel hunting. I took the Gladiator after a bit of sight in. Prior to Vince showing up, there was a small chipper running around the railroad ties and I grabbed my Kodiak .25 and administered 20gr of lead to his noggin with a nice offhand shot at short range.

We headed up in the woods and couldnt conceal our whereabouts. The leaves were dry and crunchy. Vince and I parted ways before a bit of a hill and I walked up to the place I went last weekend, except this time I took the camera.

This is looking up at the rocks that my spring comes from.... There are several dens around there, some small, some large.

I climbed atop the largest rock and had a seat to wait. While there, I took a few shots of the surrounding scenery. There was plenty of squirrel activity but only one came close enough for a good shot and I ended up spitting a pellet just under its head. I had not yet gotten a good idea of where the Gladiator shoots at various ranges and so should have brought a different gun.

While up there, I found this nut that had little teeth marks all over it. Nothing special, but I thought it was interesting.

That whole area used to be a pasture and the spring I get my water from was used for cattle to drink. Was my father-in-law's great, great grandfathers land then. I dont know how long this fence has been up there, but long enough for this tree to grow around it...

Did a little more shooting with the Gladiator and got her sighted in and figured out where she was hitting at range. I was just shooting quick groups, but was surprised to see that she suffered no real POI change from Crosman Pointed and JSB Exact...and seemed to like both well enough.

I also did a bit of work on a Condor with a Talon bottle.... I got the Condor from Rick McKean and wanted to do a project with it. I found a used Talon bottle for it and am working on some SSS for it.....so pics, hopefully at the next ramble...but for now lets just say that I think I have it about where I want............... More to come on that.

Went out for a ride on the bike today and enjoyed the nice weather... took a trip across the mountain and back down. There were few cars out and felt good to be out. Leaves were dropping around and the insects strong enough to survive the last couple of frosts were out for quite possibly their last hurrah.
