The reality of it is that Polka Dot Radio cannot continue to exist if these rates go into effect. This station has
no revenue whatsoever (unless you count the one recent donation). It is a hobby for me, and I'm already pushing my financial limits as it is. If the fees triple, I'll have to shut down.
I realize that there are much more important things in the world than radio, and maybe we have to pick our battles. If this fee increase goes through and PDR ceases to broadcast any longer it will be disappointing, but not the end of the world. (And hey, it'll save me a few hundred dollars a year...) Still, if you feel strongly about this, I urge you to
follow the link and do what you can!
I emailed my senator a while back and got a response that he'd "look into the satellite radio issue." Yeah, that inspires confidence
