      You don't say whether you tried anything what was suggested.

      Try
      $ SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa generator-gtk

      Or compile again using --without-sdl-audio for configure. If
      none of that helps, edit ~/.genrc or change the audio settings
      in the GUI:

      sound_minfields = 4
      sound_maxfield = 10
