A few days ago I had an urge to play shining force 2 again. I tried gens, but that runs too slow to be playable. I looked through the code there for a few hours, but it's a mess. generator is remarkably cleaner. anyway, it took me a while to get it to compile, I tried with --with-warnings. I cleaned up a lot of the warning and got it compiling on with gcc 3.3.4 (which supposedly has the bug fixed which was causing problems in earlier versions of gcc). I tried applying Christian Biere's patch and, after some cleaning, got things compiling again. Unfortunately, his patch with or without my modifications doesn't work for me. sound will play, but there is no video. with the normal generator, the screen starts off black, with his patch it stays gray. Anyone have any ideas on this?
