Josh don't worry guys are always afraid and shy first time they ask a girl for a date and I can tell you the girls are too so it is only natural. Why not suggest a movie or something and after that a cup of coffee or a coke at some place and talk about the movie you just saw?
When you leave her give her a kiss on her cheek and ask if you can go to some other movie another time.
