You're right - unfortunately Netscape doesn't work so well in Windows

but I'm reluctant to switch completely over.
Thanks for your suggestions. I haven't crashed since doing the RegClean, so I'm wondering if there was a stray DLL running around causing the problems. I do think I have to do a clean install of 4.7 though - you're right about that.
I also have a random problem with Netscape 3.0 persisting on my machine, though I removed it with Add/Remove programs and I can't actually find the Netscape.exe for 3.0. Somehow, Netscape 3.0 becomes my default browser if I click on an HTML file. Paul tried to help me with that one (thanks!) but Windows would not "obey" (big surprise).
I'll reinstall 4.7 and let you know how it goes.
