Hello friends.
My R11 make me mad when I look onto it. Front wheel's are too far from arches, and it makes car look like scooter . Is it normal clearance between arch and wheel upper side to be 8-10 cm. If not how to adjust it. Someone say's change shocks. But here are only one kind for all modifications (MONROE, SACHS etc.):( that means only I can change the springs. Is it right decision or I have to buy special sporty shockers or adjustable (not imported here:()
Thanx

Hello Ivo,

Yes the gap sounds about normal for a standard (=non-Turbo) car. And yes, unless you're a pensioner over 70, that will make your eyes hurt!

You can lower the front suspension by fitting lowering springs to standard-height shockers. If you renew the shockers at the same time, don't buy Monroe Sensa-Tracs as they aren't suitable for use with lowering springs. Sachs or Boge gas-pressure shockers are relatively inexpensive and perform quite OK.

As for the lowering springs, many manufacturers have already removed the R9/11 from their catalogues, but at least the Italian OMP has them for the R11 Turbo. I guess they lower 35 mm, so your car would drop appr. 50 mm (original Turbo suspension is already about 15 mm lower).

That's about the max you can drop without damaging the standard-length shockers.
