Let's hope 2002 turns out good for everyone.
I must say I personally feel a little confused at the beginning of 2002. It's a little over 16 hrs since our former national currency, the Finnish Mark, ceased to exist after 140+ years in service. The Mark is dead, long live the Euro!
I guess I'm not alone, there must be about 300 million other Europeans about as confused as I am, trying to adapt to tour new currency. As this is a holiday and I've been home all day, I haven't had the chance to check if there are the new euro banknotes available from ATMs. Probably not everywhere yet, since the change is a mammoth operation. Well, there's two months to get rid of the remaining Marks and, in my economical situation, that shouldn't prove too difficult.

(...or

?)
I guess I'll go shopping tomorrow just to get my first taste of euros...
Easier for you Joe as well if (when

) you decide to take a cross-continental European tour. No need to have 10 different currencies in your pockets.
