Hi Everyone, I am currently restoring a 1.7 ren5. I know this engine is the same as in other models! I am finding it almost IMPOSSIBLE to find any performance parts for the engine, i.e camshafts, valve kits, exhaust manifolds etc.
Does anyone know where I can obtain these sort of items from?

Dave, I am in USA and there is nothing for performance improvements for any of the USA Made Reno's, but I get asked a lot about this on my GTA Power list, where many members of the R-9 have a 2.0 in them, and other have the 1.7 common
to the R-9 of 1985-1987.
When you find hot rodding parts, info,, let me know so I can tell my buddies where to get the stuff,,, or ask Artur, Juha on this list-- as they post a lot and are in Europe.....

i`ve seen the 1.7 turbo`d in a magazine(one of the bad boy ones) using the inlet manifold from a later injected version. Look into the possibility of the volvo 1.7 as the engine is either very similar or it fits as a transplant. compression ratio is the problem with this engine for performance tuning.

Thanks for the turbo idea, it's been a while since I posted the message and I've since managed to find a company to modify my camshaft.
I heard a month back that the turbo is available in the volvo as it is the same block & head but it's too much work & ££ for me unfortunately.
