It wasnt the carb, that was the main problem...
I had the thing into its component pieces and not a thing wrong. BUT! There was a constant drip,drip,drip of fuel even when the engine was off. After much checking I reckon that the anti-percolation filter is creating a back pressure somehow and pulling fuel through the system.
Anyway, all fixed now! She runs very well and the carb has been serviced at the same time
