Hi all, I might be getting an R9 cheverny in two weeks time, but I can't find anything about it on the internet. I know that it's nearly the same as the TSE model but I can't find anything about that either (I'm curious to know what features the TSE/cheverny has.

R9/11 TSE equipment

In Spain, the R9/11 TSE was equipped with a 1397 cc, 72 HP engine, electric windows, centralised locking, 'sport' seats, alloy rims, revolution counter, rear windshield wiper (R11 only) and a buzzer that sounds when you leave the car with the headlights switched on.

Well, at least this is what a friend's 1984 R11 TSE is equipped with. My 1985 R11 GTL is more poor and very, very near to die.

Best regards,

Sergio

Thanks, Sergio! Your friend's must have a C1j engine. Since mine is built in 1988 I guess it's a phase two. I picked up somewhere that it's a C3j / 1390cc / 55 HP. Rev counter and alarm buzzer would be allright, though

I figured since the cheverny is some sort of special model it must have some extras.

Hey! a TSE Cheverny is far better equipped than a standard TSE. AFAIK TSEs in Austria had:
- engine in Cheverny is NOT a 72HP C1J, but 55HP C3J with catalytic converter, and EFI.
- electric windows front
- electric mirrors
- rev. counter
- front anti-fog lights
- velour upholstery (sport seats / doors)
- leather sport steering wheel
- digital clock / board computer
- alloy wheels
- central locking / infrared control
- sunroof
- headlights adjustable from inside
- dashboard dimmer
- reading spot, lights for rear passangers, glovebox light
- 1/3 - 2/3 split rear seats
..
can't remember more .. I'm sure it's just a top-of-the-line model.. only TXE cheverny was better equipped, and has a power steering option.

thanx for the overkill, artur!

Actually, I'm a bit confused now. The dealer said it was a Cheverny 1.4, but no further type. Is it safe to assume that it's at least a TSE or were there any other lower end Chevernies made?

And another thing.. is €750 a reasonable price for this car? (1988, 125.000 km.)

Thanks again for the info, I look forward to joining the club!

Lots of chevernys down there...

Watch out.. Actually there were lots of various R9/11 chevernys released:
- TL/TD Cheverny
- GTL/GTD Cheverny
- TSE/TXE/TDE Cheverny

Cheverny sign stays for a better equipped series of R9/11 that were released in 1988. Basically a TL cheverny has the equipment of a standard MY 1987 GTL, a GTL cheverny is more less a former TSE modell and so on.. If it's really a TSE, you gonna get a really great car, but a TL Cheverny is just an average version... GTL, and TSE cheverny had the same engine a C3J, TL Cheverny AFAIK had a 1237cc C3G. not sure about that... If it's a TSE - go for it - it's hell worth the price, but if it's an inferior version - you'd have to see it ffor yourself..
One more thing .. beginning with GTL cheverny those models have a dual-optic front lights (turbo styled) - very cool stuff..
