i have a renault 11 in the uk, F reg, currently leaded, the cc is roughly 1276 (or something like that?)
i heard that with a timing change it may be able to run it on leaded?
can it be done? or can i use unleaded safely anyway?

I'm driving on unleaded for 3 years now, with no changes done to the ignition. I have no problems with engine at all, despite the usual wear and tear matters >200,000 kms done..
If still uncertain - you might use unleaded with lead substitute, which is widely avaliable (at least in Poland )

bye

I fully agree with Artur, I´ve been driving my TSE and currently my GTX with unleaded only, as there is no leaded fuel available in Austria anymore. I don´t use lead substitue as well, and had no problems with timing or ignition. The only thing to watch is that you use the same octane as before - in my case, I still use 98 octanes, unleaded´, without any problems.

Regards,
Andy
