Time after time I am changing my starter. I own D9E E36 Valeo starter. First thing i changed was the bushes then again brushes 4 times, i've changed, bearings 3 times then stator then bushes support 2 time, teeht wheel, complete new megnet switch etc.
Now my repairing guy said i have to change rotor.
I've baught D6RA from 19 1.7. 3 times i've changed drushes and 3 times rotors. Where could be the problem ? When i repair the starting process is perfect. I am starting for 4-6 sec. maximum /i have LPG/ not much. there was positioner on the gear box should be two ? when i am using two i hear strange sound and starter works slowly. could that be unpositioned gearbox support ? But i can't have stater for more than 1 month please help. P.S. I have very big cables for the starter.

My father had a similar problem with his R6 years ago. He needed 3 starters, but finally they found out that the iginition lock was defect. It gave contact to the starter in ignition position, so the starter "run" all the time... try to check your ignition lock, it may be the cause.

Andy
