Hi,
Check the electronic relay placed on the generator. If it is out of order there can be some volts higher everywhere, and the heater too.If your electric system is some volts higher than is recommended it will start to lose the bulbs first than the acumulator start to leak.If this relay is O.K.then this one volt is not dangerous for your heater.
Regards.
Tisho.

Thanxs Tisho but the voltage is not to high I think. If anything I think it is to low. I am hoping that someone can tell me what the voltage for the rear screen heater should be. I think it should be 12 volts and there is only 7 - 8 volts at the heater end. I think there is a drop but don't know where it could be from.

Hi again,
May be you are absolutely right, because on the most popular cars the voltage on the back screen heater ends is 12V.I am not sure about R19.The normal electric connection starts from el.package /key/ which ,,gives,, you +,a fuse ,through the switcher for a heating and reaching the ,,net,, of heater. Go through the ,,net,, the chain is connect with corpus of the car – ground. If you have got low voltage it should be bad electric connection somewhere. It may be on the ends of fuse or into the ,,clips,, cause all this sounds like clips corrosion. A time ago I have got the same problem, but with the front screen spraying cleaner/I am owner of R9/ Check also the connector placed on the door of the trunk. It may be need cleaning. This is all that I can suppose for now. Today I will check what must the voltage should be and will look for some electric schedule for your R19.A friend of mine is a owner of 19.I hope that this will be some minor problem. Congratulations for a good choise.R19 is a really good car and it is probably will be my next car.
Regards.See ya tomorow.Tisho from Bulgaria.

Hey,
What,s happen with your lovely car?
Unfortunately I cant find the schedule for you, but I still looking for.I measure for you the voltage. It must be 12 volts! When you open the 5th door there is 4 contacts.Tre of tham are grount,,-,, and the last one/the right one is positive,,+,,.The minuses are tree because there is one for a heater second for the screen wipper and the third just for sure.
That,s all for now.
Regards.Tisho.
