1995 R9 1.7L 5speed USA. It gets driven less then 500 miles ayear as it is a convertable.
engine quits when temperture gage gets to half.(no spark from the coil). Engine cools down and it ill start and run
just okay until it warms up again. This evening I'll start to check for corroded connections. Any suggestions?

Fairly common problem with renaults. My Fuego did the same thing. It is either the Top Dead Center sensor (AKA flywheel pick-up ) or the ignition coil itself. I would bet on the coil unit first. Probably a crack inside that opens up under heat.
