Today I changed one lousy Solex 28/34 z10 carburettor for another one om my '88 11 GTX Cheverny. Still the same problem, a flatt spot when accelerating hard on petral (no problems on LPG). Is it usefull to install a carburettor from the R19 with f2n engine or is the Weber 32DRTM a better option?

Another problem I have is with cooling fluid. I addded 3 liters of it in the last three days. I know it's hot outside, but that is probably not the reason it disappears. Can't find leaks though...

Every advice is welcome,

Gr.,

John

Hello,

Could be that your heather radiator is leaking. With the hot weather of the last days, your engine temperature will rise higher than usual. Maybe a hose couldn't stand the pressure. You can put the cooling system under pressure, for example with a tire pump. (about 0.5 to 1 bar). Put the pump on the overflow tank and disconnect the hose between this tank and the radiator. Now you can see if there are any leaks. Check all the hoses.

Good luck

To find the hole

Hi friend!
May these tips help you:
To find the hole ( because there is one!)
1° look for it with the engine cold, because the with the engine hot, the heat may produce the evaporation of the fluid,
2° check all the rubber pipes, specially the ones near the exaust because the heat of the exaust turns the rubber harder, and easy to break beacuse of hardness. Also check de things (i dont know the name, in spanish "abrasadera") that holds the pipes to the nozzles, may be one of them is weak.
3° Check always with the engine cold, if the water pump is leakin', usually happen, as well as the main radiator.

So i hope these tips will help you with your issue.
Regard my friend!
Let us know haw things are going on, ok?

It was the radiator plug

The cooling leakage was easily solved. With a hot engine the mechanic put pressure on the cooling system. The liquid hosed out of the radiator plug. A new plug solved the problem.

Haven't tried an new fuel pump yet.

Last monday some junkie(?) broke into my car and stole a sporting bag out of it. Luckely no further damage to the car, just a broken driver's side rear door triangle window. Easy to replace...

Hi there.

Perhaps it's not the carb fault - check the fuel pump first - maybe it's faulty.
if it comes to cooling liquid - just warm the engine up in the garrage, wait until the fan turns on, and then inspect it carefully- you'll find the leak at once.
