My 1987 Renault R9 with F3N engine and JB3 transaxle survived 320,000 Km before I had any mechanical breakdowns.
I just changed normal parts.. Brakes, shocks, boots, etc.

then Wednesday my clutch release bearing locked up, broke the clutch, ruined my pressure plate and tore the bearing guide out of the snout of the transaxle. So be carefull. Supposedly Renault France has placed a law on dealers disallowing them selling R9/R11 parts in North America which is where I live.
So I must search hard to find parts here in Canada for my R9's bearings since Renault no longer operates a sales chain in Canada or the United States.

Lionel, I managed to find the parts I needed in a used transaxle I bought as a spare for $30 Canadian. I was lucky. I got a rebuilt clutch assembly and the car is back to being it's old self. I hope this never happen again.

320,000 Km on a F3N Renault R9
