Hi everyone.
Today I had my timing belt tear off. According to my engine F2N '85 is there any possibility valves to be broken ?

Valves usually bend in F3N and F3R

I have both the F3N 1.7 and the F3R 2.0 Motors and they both will bend and break valves when the motor is really revvvving and the belt snaps....
If you can get a belt- put it on and just barely put back the spark plugs a little bit-- then turn the motor over by hand and hear the compression-- if you get no compression-- then the motor must be taken apart and repaired....
I know it is a pain in the rear-- BUT WHY RENAULT ENGINEERS THOUGHT A RUBBER TIMING BELT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO BLAME THE CUSTOMER WHEN THE BELT RUINED YOUR MOTOR I WILL NEVER KNOW!!!!!!

All I can say is to try the cheap way first to establish compression-- and if you do not get compression in all 4 cylinders-- apart it must !!!

good luck!!!!

I have disassembled my engine and one valve was bend. Now I am about to reestablish the engine again and I was asking myself why these stupid engineers did not make anything to safe the valves ?!!?. Anyway it had only 5000 km at back Now I am trying to adjust the valve shims. Please if anyone have some tips let him say (I have no any Renault special tool).
Thanx,
