PP training without a decoy a DVD

The biggest obstacle for people trying to train a Personal Protection dog is somebody for their dog to chew on, the Decoy!

I became painfully aware of this problem when I started up my Guard Dog company. Now, if you think you have a problem because you don't have someone to work your future Protection dog, think of me in a Guard Dog business.

If I don't have someone to work dogs, I don't buy beans this week!! Training for me wasn't pride in my dog, it wasn't getting a trophy or certification, it wasn't even “My dog's tuffer than your dog, My dogs badder than yours” No, for me not having a decoy meant “You ain't eating this week.” THAT is serious motivation folks.

As necessity is the mother of invention I came up with a way I could teach dogs fighting and biting (serious bites, not just prey drive, tug of war stuff) and still put them in the truck to deliver them to the site without getting in a serious disagreement, that they would win. And after fifteen years I never had a successful theft to any of my customers, but we had a lot of really good bites and stops!

I have taken the basics of training my Guard Dogs and revamped it to fit closer to a more socialized and effective Personal Protection dog. This training system will give you the tools to take your dog most of the way through a PP program.

This DVD is not fancy and technologically pretty. It is about information. It will teach things that have not been seen by most people that “think” they are doing protection training techniques.

If you understand and work your dog with this system you will be able to go to any one willing to put on equipment and see your dog engage in a bite and more important, after the bite. A fight, that should control the bad guy (notice I didn't say “grip” I did NOT want my Guard dogs to “grip”)

Included is a section on drives and how those instincts can be used to make a PP dog.
This is actual footage of dogs being trained in this system. Breeds include herders, mastiff, and terriers. You can follow each dogs progress as they learn. You can also see problems that will be arise and how to solve them

This system put a lot of green dogs on the front line of crime and they were successful, now you can use it for your Personal Protection dog.

Got my copy thanks Butch.I found it very helpful and easy to understand. You always deliver things the simplest way without trying to over analyse them like some dog trainers who think they have discovered the long lost secret of how alchemists turned lead to gold.
Now to put it into practice.

Hey Butch,
I just watched the DVD and I love it. As much of that stuff we have gone over and over again, on getting them to bite full & hard, I was amazed at how much actualy/finaly clicked. I can't wait to start working with it.

I tried the technique on a ten year old, in the woods, hog catching machine. I found out what NOT to do when you trigger the prey drive on a dog that has only caught things that greatly out-power him. Do not get on your hands and knees so you can ease him into it. He will launch himself completely off the ground, at your face. After you change your pants, you will back tie him prior to round 2.

I currently am using these techniques on four dogs, none of which have any prior protection training. Ages five months to ten years. I have lost 3 of my good shirts in two weeks due to this DVD. Wear your chore clothes, it will fire them up!

My five month old AB gyp looses her mind at "Watchem"!

Butch I ordered your DVD on PP dog training and I am quite impressed with your explanation of the primary drives used in this work. I also like your down to earth approach to triggering the dogs drives. If your curious about what it takes to build a PP dog for the street I suggest this video if for nothing else the plain spoken delivery of the drives required and the emphasis put on timing . Great job!!

Thanks

Brian and all you folks,
Thanks for the kind words, my goal was to put out good info and thanks to your comments I guess we are.
Brian, glad you can appreciate how important timing is.

Now we'll move on to the next one.
Thanks again.
