For the past decade or so, I've been blessed with what people call PERFECT skin. Soft, flawless, transparent peaches&cream skin with absolutely no "spots". Since starting bovine ovary, my skin has become unbalanced and I get the occasional spot. Arrrggghhh!!!!! I hate that!

I would strongly recommend "bye bye blemish" drying lotion, think its American but available in UK too - only spot product I've ever used thats worked but it's v drying so careful not to give yourself eczema!!

The past few days for some reason I broke out with 3 really evil, nasty pimples on my upper arm, just a few inches above the crook of my elbow, where a guys muscle would normally be.

I thought they were insect bites or something, they are red, inflamed and hurt like hell. I tried to lance them but to no avail.
I still don't know what caused it for sure but whatever it is, I hope it doesn't happen again!

Could be the same thing? A common problem? I dunno?

I'll pass on that product since I've got very sensitive skin, and also because all "drying" products make the skin more acne prone in the long run. I know how to treat this, but it's annoying nevertheless.

Fennel, try applying a neosporin type product on them. I read that it helps to take care of them, without bringing them to a head, or leaving nasty scars. Have yet to try it, as I don't usually get pimples (knock on wood), but my brother who recommended it, swears by it.

Moonstruck - try not to lance things, as this can cause even greater infections, leaving a bigger sore then what was already there. You might try the neosporin as well, maybe at night or put it on, and then put a bandaid on it so it doesn't rub off. Also watch and make sure its not a fungus growing on your arm, for which you would need to get a steroided cream to treat with.


Most pimples are a result of infections on the skin - an ingrown hair, clogged pore, etc, etc, hence why they come to heads and when popped, nasty stuff comes out, so its better to treat them like that, unless you know for sure you have an acne issue. Acne is different then the occasionl pimple, and should be treated differently, just like a pimple needs to be treated differently then acne. Probably know all this, so don't mind me if I rambled on.

I know what to use and what to avoid, been working with skin care and cosmetics for years. Pimples are not inflammations per se, but easily become infected if they are touched with dirty fingers, scratched, squeezed and so on. The white stuff inside is NOT puss or bacteria. But if they become infected it's another story. The best way to treat spots is acetylic acid to keep the pores unblocked, lots of moisture to make sure the sebum can get out of the pores properly instead of getting trapped in because of unelastic unmoisturized skin, and something antibacterial to avoid inflammation.

I didn't make the initial post because I need advice on how to treat spots, I posted it because I'm pissed off that my perfect skin is now unbalanced. I really HATE having mixed skin.

Going on the pill fixed mine almost completely in a matter of weeks and it was getting quite bad, not sure if you can take the pill but don't see why not...or maybe some different herbs - maybe you could post on the main forum...good luck with it...your last post sounded more pissed off than before so sorry I caused a skincare debate

I am already on the pill and I usually have perfect skin. The bovine ovary caused some imbalance. Too much estrogen I guess. But my skin is back to normal now, thank goddess. I seem to have gotten used to the elevated hormone levels now.
