I am currently getting all my herbs from my local GNC store. I how ever have questions on potency and shelf life of the normal store brand herbs. Does shelf life effect potency, are some brands better or worse than others. Are there better, cheaper sources with the same level of safty but better products. Are some homemade mixes better. I have a local herbalist that is willing to help with making some things from scratch any ideas
You can buy herbs on ebay for WAY cheaper than you can get them at GNC..

True, there are many places you can buy your herbs from. I can tell you that 'Puritans Pride' is a good place to buy from and their prices are very good. Many times they have specials on like "buy two and get three free or buy one and get two Free. They are very good that way.
Another tip is, Don't Keep all your eggs in one basket. Pick yourself two or three places to buy from.The reason I'm saying this is,If you run low on your herbs and you place your order with one, it's possible that they could be out of stock. then what happens is you might end up with an unintentional break in your program. So by choosing a couple to order from, You'll always have a backup.
Make sure to lay in a good supply for the long haul. Don't let yourself run out all of a sudden.
I stock up and say "I'm going to take X number of caps per day." Yeah right.
So I'll buy a 60 day supply but I start sneaking up the dose and I run out in 30 days instead.
Best bet, if you can afford to, buy in quantity, you may get a discount that way and you save on shipping.

I have been buying mne at GNC. They are expensive and I have heard rumors that they are poor quality and old stuff. This latter part does not seem to be the case as they smell pretty potent and they are also working. I go mine at 40% off for a two months supply, so I think I did OK. But I would like to look at other sources for my next order.
Yet I have read so many horror stories about herbs being just about anything except what they are supposed to be that unless someone else has tried a source and knows for sure that they are 100% legit, I do not want to take a chance on another product. So if anyone knows some other options, please let me know.
