Response to what a coincidence!!

Well, I cant tell you to trap the cat or not to. There is a responsibility for you to either care for the cat or take it someplace where it can be cared for. If you are willing to accept that, then great! I'd say do it.

Another option first would be to call your local ASPCA and see if this is something that they can handle. If not, and you need to trap on your own, there are a couple of things to keep in mind.

A live catch trap should work fine. Use sardines or canned cat food for bait. Put the trap near the edge of cover if possible. A cat will not likely go into a trap that is right out in the open as they are quite wary animals.

After capture, be sure to use a towel or blanket to cover the cage during transport. This reduces stress on the animal and also protects you from possibly getting clawed through the cage. You can take the cat to a shelter or vet.

Bear in mind that if you take her to a vet, you will end up paying for services. Then again, if she is aggressive and you take her to a shelter, she will likely be put down. This is why I said that there is a level of responsibility here.... The other option is to give the cat a safe place to eat and sleep and let her be.

Good luck!
