Lager beers are fermanted at lower temperatures than pilsners and others, resulting in less tannin and less fruity flavor. The LIGHT version has an after taste like seltzer water. No way you can successfully lighten a lager beer as robust, and if you did, what's the point?
Heineken is my favorite with Lowenbrau and Becks close behind. I enjoy Miller High Life if its cold enough. Corona is good with the lime. Blue Moon is a Russian White Wheat brew and has a hint of orange, goes well served with a slice of that same citrus.
Some beer like Bud Ice give me an aweful sick feeling, just with one serving! Killian's Red (woody beer) tastes great but again, doesn't agree with me. Must be some allergic reaction from the wood keg or some secret ingredient used during fermentation.
I find that it isn't enough to simply find a beer that you like, as it must also like you, tried and true!
